Host a Coffee
Dear Supporter,
A corner piece of our early fall efforts is our Community Coffee Program. Over the next few months we will be having coffees at the homes and offices of supporters like you throughout the district. The aim is to have small events and talk directly to the voters addressing their concerns about the state budget, education funding, traffic relief, and other issues that affect our community.
If you would be willing to host one at your home or office, please let me know right away. There are no expectations for a big turnout - even a handful of people will be time well spent.
What we ask is that one night you open your home or office and invite some neighbors, friends and co-workers to attend a brief Community Coffee. We can have a short reception and then I'll take questions from those who attend. In addition to the people you invite, the campaign will do a postcard mailer to voters in your neighborhood inviting them to attend (if this causes any discomfort we can go with just your invitees).
We are not expecting great things or huge crowds - even a few people will be an evening well spent. It gives me a chance to meet voters one on one and answer their questions and concerns directly. Also nothing fancy is needed for refreshments - just coffee or whatever you are willing to provide. The campaign can cover any nominal costs if necessary. We have ready made fliers, and emails you can forward to you list. We are also happy to track the RSVPs if it makes it easier.
