First Responder Mental Health

Putting First Responders First

Around September 11th every year, we pause to honor our first responders and remember those killed in the line of duty. But the tragic reality is that we lose more first responder lives to suicide than those killed in the line of duty.
We have to do better.

On September 10th, 2019 I will bring forward a policy to the Board of Supervisors to not only tackle the stigma surrounding mental health treatment but and launch a new countywide program to provide world-class, stigma-free mental health care services to any first responder in San Diego County.
This is one way we can truly support those who protect us all.
Join us in putting first responders first.
Join us in our commitment to support those who serve in the line of duty!
