Nathan Fletcher Outraises Bonnie Dumanis 2-1
Democrat Nathan Fletcher enters general election with strong lead over Republican Bonnie Dumanis
SAN DIEGO - Building on his strong first-place finish in June’s primary, Democrat Nathan Fletcher has outraised Republican Bonnie Dumanis more than 2-1 in the campaign for San Diego Supervisor District 4, according to publicly filed campaign finance reports.
In addition to the strong fundraising, Fletcher holds a significant lead over Dumanis in cash on hand, leading $139,833 to $76,005. Nearly half of contributions to Fletcher’s campaign were $100 or less.
Nathan Fletcher said: “Our momentum keeps building as San Diegans from all walks of life join our campaign to bring change to the Board of Supervisors. It’s clear voters want a County Supervisor who will bring new ideas, new energy and new direction for county government. I will stand up for our values and against Trump’s hate. On the County Board, I’ll fight to protect the rights of women and immigrants, tackle the out-of-control homeless crisis and expand job training programs and apprenticeships to help every San Diegan succeed.”
According to publicly filed campaign finance reports, Fletcher raised $131,153 in monetary contributions from 336 supporters from May to June 2018. Fletcher is also reporting $139,833 cash on hand, a vital measure of a campaign’s ability to communicate its message and run a strong grassroots turnout effort.
Dan Rottenstreich, Fletcher campaign consultant said: “Nathan Fletcher handily won June’s primary and is now expanding his lead over Republican Bonnie Dumanis with strong grassroots fundraising. But we’re not taking anything for granted - the Republicans and their special interest allies spent over $1 million to defeat Fletcher in the primary and will stop at nothing to maintain GOP control of County Government. Today’s finance reports show that not only is Republican Bonnie Dumanis’ campaign sputtering, but Nathan Fletcher and the Democrats will have the resources and grassroots support to fight back against the Republicans and win in November.”
Nathan Fletcher is the Democratic Party’s endorsed candidate for County Supervisor.
