Nathan Fletcher Statement On Union-Tribune Investigation Revealing Repeated Failures By County To Stop Sexual Abuse Of Foster Children
San Diego- Today, Nathan Fletcher, candidate for County Board of Supervisor District 4, released the following statement in response to the County’s failure to protect foster children.
County government should stand with the victims and provide them reparations instead of blaming them in legal documents. And they owe the public answers as to how their system allowed a sexual predator to serve as a foster parent for seven years and missed repeated reports of his abuse. It is time for a full and transparent investigation into the failures that led to this tragedy followed by concrete actions to ensure accountability and structural changes moving forward.
County government must be committed to protecting the children in their care. We expect better.”
