Moving Forward: A heroic effort by so many has allowed San Diego County to vaccinate more than 40% of its residents! We have descended into the orange tier, and recent changes give us more stability on our re-opening. Let’s not lose our focus, stay safe, finish strong, and look forward to June 15th and the retiring of the tiers!
Great documentary: With award season finally here, my wife and I decided to watch the five documentaries nominated for an Oscar this year. First up, “Collective” directed by Alexander Nanau. I highly recommend this gripping doc about corruption, public health, and attempts to hold the Romanian government accountable.
Good initiative/bad judgment: A Mexican congressional candidate, Carlos Mayorga, recently launched his campaign by climbing out of a coffin. He doesn’t have a Jesus complex; it was meant to bring attention to the country’s thousands of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic and the cartel. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if this out of the box thinking was a genius idea, or a grave mistake:)
Strangest play ever?: Jose Canseco getting hit in the head with a fly ball that bounces over the fence. Randy Johnson throwing a pitch that hits a bird. Lenny Randle blowing a ball foul. Nope. I think the strangest play I’ve seen was this week when the New York Mets won a game on a “walk-off strikeout”? Clearly a mistake by the umpire. And one we will talk about for a while.
