Operation Santa: While Christmas may look a little different this year, nothing stops the US postal service! “Operation Santa” will continue delivering children’s letters to Santa! The most amazing part of this program is that anyone can read through the letters, pick one and send a gift to the child who wrote to Santa. The letters are posted online this year for gift-givers (also known as “Elves”) to take a look and send gifts anywhere in the country. Deadline to act--December 19th. But don’t procrastinate--do it now. It will make you feel good!
Meanwhile: My 12 year old didn’t want to do a letter to Santa (nah Dad, I know what’s up). Instead he emailed me a google document with an organized list of gifts--including links and noting which ones had free shipping. Kids these days:)
Follow up: Last week, a few of you were a little unsure about spotting Saturn/Jupiter (those without a telescope). Here is an app that I use: Sky View. You open the app, point it towards the sky, and it identifies planets, constellations, stars, and so much more! And check out this page from the Atlantic -- every day in December is a new Hubble photo!
“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in”: I love all three of the Godfather trilogy, but I love the third one the least (number 2 is my favorite). Francis Ford Coppola was always stung a bit by negative reviews of Godfather Part III so he is back--with “The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone”. This re-edited, remastered, and re-titled re-make of the finale will most certainly be a part of my weekend:)
Question of the Week: My office fields a variety of questions on a daily basis. This one made me laugh: “Is it true as reported on the Good Neighbor app that lions were released into the canyon below Mt. Soledad to curb the coyote population.”
