Roaring back: Our economy is roaring back (number 1 economic recovery in the US)! I got out of the office to visit some small businesses and share details about our Small Business Stimulus Grant Program (feel free to share the info). I had a great time, met some amazing people, and even went roller skating :)
Cool courage: This week, Carl Nassib became the first openly gay NFL player. It took tremendous courage and he did it with a cool confidence that was right on point. Take a minute and check out his video announcement HERE. I remember him from “Hard Knocks” a few years ago-pretty funny guy. Check out two of my favorite clips: Carl the financial planner and Carl who believes in aliens.
Speaking of aliens: For us in the northern hemisphere, this Sunday is the longest day of the year. The “Summer Solstice” is made possible because the Earth doesn’t spin upright but leans on an axis. Astronomers wonder if this tilt helped create the conditions for life on Earth and more importantly question if this tilt exists on a planet outside of our solar system, would it also be able to sustain life. I say yes:) Lets go!
Zodiac Hacked: If you are a long time F5 follower, you lived through Lorena and my obsession with the Zodiac killer. We did movies, documentaries and podcasts. Last December a group cracked some of the few cyphers that hadn't been solved. A French engineer says he unlocked the last two—including identifying the killer. True “zodiologists'' (yeah, that is a thing) are skeptical, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt !
Just like that: In what feels like the blink of an eye, we have another one graduating high school and heading off to the University of California Santa Barbara. Congrats Antonio--we are so proud of you!
