Just vote (tweet of the week): Since this 102-year-old lady made it out to vote, you have no excuse! And if you want some recommendations on state ballot measures check out this short video Lorena and I did.
Courage in a climate of fear: This piece from Dr. Eric Topol in Science Magazine calls out the courage of our healthcare leaders in this pandemic and places it in an appropriate historical context (it also calls out the cowardice of some as well). Dr. Topol is a great mind; I recommend his Twitter account. Also, while San Diego was on the precipice of moving to a higher COVID tier, San Francisco was descending into less restrictive ones. It is possible!
Bunga, bunga: I knew the former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi was a hot mess—part Trump before Trump, but this Wondery podcast takes you inside a story that will have you question if it all could really happen. It did!
Pronouns: My pronouns are he/him/his. This week was international pronouns day. As our understanding of gender has evolved, our language needs to do the same. People can mock the effort, but it is important we continually push ourselves to be more inclusive. Understanding and using pronouns is a small step everyone can take. Please take a minute to watch this short video and visit www.mypronouns.org to learn more.
Cheer for the Dodgers: Yes, I said it. Don’t @ me. I know in San Diego, #BeatLA brainwashing solution is put into the water (mixed in with fluoride for all the conspiracy theorists). But let's face it—the Astros stole a World Series ring from the Dodger last year—because they cheated. Let the Dodgers have it this year. And then our Padres can take it from there.
