Pastor Terrell Fletcher Endorses Nathan Fletcher for 4th District County Supervisor
SAN DIEGO - Pastor Terrell Fletcher, a community leader and former San Diego Chargers running back, announced his support of Nathan Fletcher for County Supervisor today.
Pastor Terrell Fletcher said: "Nathan Fletcher has a deep seated commitment to service and the experience and ability to get things done. I know he will work tirelessly to make a real difference for our community and I am proud to support him.”
Pastor Terrell Fletcher is Senior Pastor at the City of Hope International Church in Southeast San Diego and is an acclaimed author and motivational speaker. Previously, Fletcher had an eight-year career in the NFL as a star running back for the San Diego Chargers and was the 1994 Rose Bowl game’s Most Valuable Player. Fletcher is a fixture of the San Diego community well known for his outspoken advocacy for social and economic justice.

As County Supervisor, I’ll fight to ensure every neighborhood gets its fair share from County Government and work to expand resources and protections for our most vulnerable communities.”
Terrell Fletcher’s endorsement adds to the broad, growing support Nathan Fletcher has received from prominent African American leaders and elected officials, including highly respected San Diego faith leaders Bishop Bowser, Bishop Roy Dixon, and Rev. Gerald Brown. Nathan Fletcher is also endorsed by Assemblymember Chris Holden, Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus, State Senator Steven Bradford, Vice Chair, Legislative Black Caucus, and State Senator Isadore Hall, former Chair Legislative Black Caucus; as well as other members of the California Legislative Black Caucus Assemblymember Mike Gipson, Assemblymember Jim Cooper, Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer Assemblymember Kevin McCarty and Assemblymember Tony Thurmond.
Nathan Fletcher is a Marine Corps combat veteran, former California State Assemblymember and a Professor of Practice at UCSD. In the State Assembly, Fletcher passed more than 30 laws to expand healthcare coverage, protect homeowners during the foreclosure crisis and strengthen penalties for violent crimes against children. Since leaving the Assembly, Fletcher founded a veterans’ advocacy foundation to help eliminate the stigma surrounding Post-Traumatic Stress and joined the teaching faculty at UCSD. Fletcher lives in City Heights with his wife, Lorena, and their four children.
